New Years Day Surprise

After staying out late at a friend's house (but still leaving before midnight to beat the drunks home and get a very tired, been up since 6am husband to bed) we didn't notice the mail we got on Saturday, New Years Eve. So as we are walking out the door to go to church on Sunday morning, John grabs the mail and finds a letter from the California Board of Professional Engineers and Surveyors and hands it to me. My response: great, I get to find out what I need to start studying for.

So I open the letter and start reading. "Congratulations on passing the December 2011 examination(s)..." Wait, does that mean I passed both? Continue reading. "This serves as temporary evidence that you hold a professional engineering license." I think this means I passed! Yes, somehow, by the good grace of God, I passed both of the California exams! I have no idea how I passed the seismic exam, but I don't care. I'm done. I got the official certificate last week. I still need to order a stamp, but I don't have to study anymore! What a liberating feeling! I was convinced I had to go through the seismic again and was a bit shocked that I passed.

I couldn't think of a better way to start the new year.

Regards,

Cari E. Ferrell, P.E.
